Sounds like your old truck did just fine on the Loto trip, bet you're ready to go back!

You know it. I had a great time. Even only getting 8mpg getting there . Maybe I could borrow a friends diesel and get there in 1/2 the time and half the fuel cost when I go back down. :-)

the real question here is . does it really matter how you get the boat to the water to enjoy the boat . i hope once youre in the boat you aint worrying about if it a diesel or a gasser left at the ramp . jeepers lets talk about boats . my boat has two paul pfaff gassers that drink gas like hell 1 mile to the gallon down hill .. thats right i too have a gasser . oh gassers . lol . ps diesels rule though

Dan, why does this feel directed at me? Lol. At least you have the boat right now. Lol. Bring that down and we can share. We can both use your boat out of my backyard and pull it to runs in the new dually!! Lol. Hopefully I have the boat to hang on the back of the dually next year. So far the after divorce plan is right on track. Lol

I put a turbo back exhaust, cold air intake and a tuner on mine. Could not believe the change and did help the mileage about 1.5-2 mph. It was a lot cheaper then buying something else.

I do have upgraded exhaust and thought about doing the intake and 6 pos chip. Worried about EGT temps tho and dont really want to add guages

Tuner & exhaust really wake the truck up. I've been running such on my 7.3L PSD for years and love the truck. I have an article saved on some more trusted upgrades, but not going to do anything to engine without transmission upgrade first. It's paid for (since the day I bought it), and I'll keep it forever.

I added a sensor that plugs into the SCT to read egt. Like you I didn't want gauges.

Drove the truck with the exhaust and intake on the stock tune,,,,,,, ok but much better with a tune.
And I should have said, I did upgrade the transmission before any of this.
