I have a 2015 duramax. Although the body and interior are different the drivetrain is identical. Haven't had mine very long but very happy thus far. Real world fuel economy hand calculated was avg 16 at 80 mph. Very smooth power curve. That's the best I can offer so far as I haven't towed or done much else with it. DEF supposedly lasts about the length of an avg oil change. 5 gallon tank to refill. Not very costly. If its out of warranty I'd look into doing the deletes. Good luck on whatever you decide.
Now all that aside!! GM ROCKS!! Lol

I would pass on the first year 6.7 ford, they had a few issues with them. A friend has a 2010 with the 6.4, it's a mean mofo. A simple tuner can net you over 550hp on the 6.4 and it has twin turbos in series from the factory. One of the big differences between the Chevy/GMC and Ford are the front ends. Ford has a straight axle where GM runs IFS. GM has had a few issues with their front ends, most notably the tie rods, but there are great aftermarket fixes out there. Both Ford and GM make great trucks, it really just boils down to personal preference. Each have their own issues and advantages. I drive a cummins.. Not because I think it's any better, but simply because I got a killer deal. My best advice is for you to drive each one and buy what you are comfortable in.

The 2011 6.7 issues stem from the DPF regen, similar to what the 08 6.4 went through. Not uncommon to see them melt down with relatively low miles. A close friend owns a local diesel only shop, each brand and each year has their quirks.

Some of the early 6.7 cab/chassis rigs dropped exhaust valves and destroyed motors. We saw some issues with piss pumps and plugged EGR coolers, but other than that they were a pretty rock solid rig. The fuel system in ANY of these trucks are very sensitive, so draining the water separator and servicing fuel filters are paramount to keeping the trucks running well. The 6.7 is a honey of a motor though, smooth with plenty of power, as is the duramax, although the duramax is slightly louder.

Have one of the first 2011 F-250's with the 6.7 and have no issues at all. In a couple of months, 5 years with no mechanical issues. Just changed the oil and fuel separators. I would consider it a great vehicle. I'm a GM owner as well and I don't think the DMax is a bad choice either. Drive both and see what you like and can get the best deal on.
