I'm sick and tired of the hull marks from my rollers. I think a boat should look just as good in the water as it does on the trailer. I plan on welding on a new rear crossmember and then adding the bunks. By my measurements the bunks will be about 8' long. I was thinking of doing a pair on each side of the hull. Then I will possibly add a keel roller to the trailer to protect everything.

BTW my trailer is an older Load Rite with the drop down rear cross member.

Anybody done this before that can make suggestions?

I hate rollers, bunks are better. You want carriage bolts and countersink tme below the wood surface cover and glue the carpet.

Four will be better, one up form the keel an do up the hull should be enough. I did mine years ago and it came out fine, just measure everything twice, you don't want the boat on the steel. Good luck

I have the trailer well balanced as it sits on the rollers. I will use those measurements for my height from the crossmembers. I will be changing the rear crossmember for sure, it hangs REALLY low and I don't want it to hang up on anything. I will make the crossmember with the boat still on the trailer and use that as a reference point and mockup.
