That drop hitch looks like there is a lot of bad leverage on the receiver.

Look closer, he's got kickers/struts on the bottom of the drop hitch to try to combat the leverage.

I stand corrected. I didn't even catch that kicker dropping down to the hitch. Just a quick glimpse and I thought it was a type of ladder / torsion bar for the lift.

I'll toss it out there, that aluminum drop hitch will get some attention.

While I don't tow a big boat (27 fastech) I do tow it with a VERY lifted 7.3 F250. Its on 37's and 12" of lift. Like others have said, had to make a custom drop hitch (which you better overbuild, I bent the first one) to make it all work. The key is gearing and getting the powerband just right. My truck has 3.73's and needs 4.10's. Not a huge gear change at all, but just enough so it could hold overdrive better around 60-65ish. Mine also isn't turned up much, which also may make it better. Also, consider adding an aftermarket larger trans cooler, because lifted trucks put more strain (AKA heat) in the drivetrain and heat will kill an automatic transmission.

It's rated at 10k with 1500# tongue weight. The Jeep and trailer aren't that heavy. I use a different one with the boat. The supports are to the frame. It is stout. Usually use my SD to pull the boat though.
