Hey guys, I know its kinda an old post but I'm installing LED's on my trailer.. How did you attach the wires to the underside of the rails.. thinking of using silicone.. Thoughts?

I would think silicone would peel off pretty easy. What about using these with stainless screws.

I zip tied to existing loom.

Spazz: Thanks.. I ordered the clips with adhesive backs.. Trying to avoid putting holes in the trailer. Just more points for rust to sit in. If those don't work I may have no other option but to drill holes and run the wires thru the center.

Looks great!
Just ordered 15' of yellow and red adhesive backed http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
Use caution too if you live/travel in a heavy LAW ENFORCEMENT or Revenue generating region.
according to DOT, ALL lights must work. In other words, if you have installed a ton of extra running lights and one is out, it is the same if you only had a single marker/tail light and it is out. Mostly a revenue and harassment thing. Especially if when the second question out of their mouth is "have you been drinking?" Food for thought...... |
I'm using leds by XKGLOW. I've had blue ones on my motorcycle for several years and they work great, super bright, get a ton of compliments on them..For the green ones on the trailer Instead of using the quick connects that they come with I soldered and heat shrunk the connections as well as put silicone around the pods just to make sure they are submersible.. I wouldn't trust submersing them straight out of the box.

Mine only come on when dunking the trailer. I wired them through a float switch mounted near rear of trailer. They are not on when driving down the road - and only come on when the park lights are on (and float switch closes).

Speaking of lights , the light bars have gotten pretty cheap, some are still stupid money but this one from Amazon was $55 and is well made and bright as F%$#! 13, 000 lumens.
