Texas Trailer Safety Inspection?
I was wondering if Texas requires an annual safety inspection? I found this link that talks about trailers over 4500lbs.
https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/vi...nCriteria.aspx Our trailer is documented at 10,000 and if an inspection is required will any state inspection garage do it or will I have to go to a trailer shop? Thanks in advance. |
YES according to the Texas Troopers, and inspected at the txdps inspection garage and wanted the boat off the trailer.

Thank you the clarification, I will check with the shops near the storage location and if I cannot find one I will head up to your guy.

Almost any state inspection station will be able to do the trailer. I have been doing mine for the past 7years. Just find one that has a bigger parking lot to get your trailer in and out.

Do you get a sticker to display? I have never been asked for any proof of inspection for registration purposes.
|
The sticker goes on the trailer. I believe that starting next year you will have to have the inspection before they will renew registration.
