Default F650

Anyone using a F650?

I've been thinking about getting one. I have a 2000 F350 7.3L and it does ok. Boat and trailer weigh around 15,000 +/-

Whats the pro's and con's?

What engine/trans axle ratio are you running?

What kind of MPG are you getting?

2WD or 4WD?

Just kicking around the idea right now and want to gain knowledge.

Here's my F650. It does tow like a dream. You don't even know there's anything behind you. If you keep it 65 the mileage is right at 10 mpg. If you like to run fast as I do you're looking at 6 mpg. C7 Cats are thirsty bastards. But then mine has the 425 HP Fire Engine tune. One heck of a truck to be sure but it really is overkill. Certanly turns heads at the truck stops and the boat ramp. Makes you feel like a celebrity with all the cameras flashing. Braking is where the really big difference is. That's the main problem with F350's. If the trailer brakes are iffy it can get scarey. I towed all the way back from FL to CA with no brakes on the trailer at all and never even knew it with the F650. So in summery I love the F650 but I have just bought an F550 to see how it does. It's the same 7.3 drivetrain as an F350 but with much larger front and rear axles, thus much larger brakes also. I don't really have plans to sell my F650 yet but if the F550 does as well as I think it will I just might.

Hey BigDowg, I just noticed your in Cleveland. I'm originaly from Shaker Heights. I haven't been back to Cleveland in about 10 years since all my family left there have past on. What's it like there, any big changes. When I was a kid I loved riding the rapids downtown to the Terminal Tower (I don't think it's called that anymore) to visit my grandpa at work. Many good memories of Cleveland. Still miss it at times.

Make sure you look into licensing, taxes, and insurance before you commit.
