What kind of oil temps are you getting with the Rotella? If it's up over 200, I'd try something else for 1 change just to see if it runs cooler. I ran it the first time when I got my truck because of the powrstroke.org forum. I didn't like what I saw and swore never again. Ran it the second time 80k later because I couldn't find the Valvoline on sale. I won't do that again. Again, I don't care what anyone runs in theirs, and they may have a completely different experience. Just sharing what I have seen with mine from First hand use. I switched to Valvoline based on a recommendation from Jeff at Spartan. Not sure if he is still with them. Haven't been on those forums for quite sometime. What valvoline do you run? I might try it..... |

I bought my '10 last July w/57k on it. I have 78k now and love it. When the warranty is up in March I will do the delete and keep it until I find a reason to change.

I'll check my oil temps today. I normally don't monitor them - normally watch Pyro, throttle input (I know - weird), trans, coolant.
What valvoline do you run? I might try it..... I think it says specifically formulated for Cummins turbo diesels on it:poopoo: I monitor EGTs, Boost, and Coolant temp on my main screen. Then on a secondary screen I watch 9 other things including Oil temps. |

2010 F-350 4x4 The truck is better off not dumping raw fuel down the exhaust stroke. And I'd say a majority of the horror stories I have read were on stock trucks. YMMV. My truck is the same color as yours BTW! |
I did the same - waited until my warranty was up and then deleted. Wish I'd have done it right away.....

So you want to do 2 deletes - 1. EGR and the second one is DPF. How much can one expect to pay for those 2 deletes and I'm sure that not everyone can do this nor the know how.
My truck had a Ford recall ECM reflash that was done already. - its a 2010 6.4 F350 4x4. The fuel mileage on these Fords are bad (stock) or it is with mine compared to what people report they are getting with their Dodges (Cummings) About every 3 months my monitor lite comes on and reads "cleaning the exhaust system or filter - something like that" One time it stayed on for a while like 20 mins while driving. One time I could smell diesel really bad while driving as I thought maybe an injector or two got hung open. Just asking because maybe this is caused by something that needs to be address. thanks for the replies. I understand about oil changes being important but I have a few times gone to 6.5 K so I need to not go past the 5k mark on the oil / filter change. |

Most tunes also turn off the EGR so removing that is not as critical. You can get a Dpf-r which is only about 400 bucks and delete pipes can be found all over for less than 100. They take about a half hour to remove the old pipe. Personally I went with H&S tuner because it also functions as a monitor, has shift on the fly and limitless tuning options for both engine and transmission which is about 1500. There are options in between such as spartan and SCT that would be less than 1000. |
