Well, I found a "younger one".

I bought a 2003 with 93,000 miles on it; all leather & loaded out. Details on the other thread. It's a rare gem as it's a one owner and has never towed a trailer.

Looks like a nice truck... With gas at $1.99 Towing with my diesel is starting to look stupid.

that 8.1 at 10 miles a gallon aint no treat , just sold one myself ,, seemed more like 8 a gallon . gas hog .. loved the truck though ...

I put 100k miles on my 8.1 you are right on 10 mpg Period

I don't think it matters. Got buddies with 2500 'Burbs with 8.1L's with both ratios and the mileage is the same - slim to none!

the good thing is you always have a hot coffee or cold pop .. after all them gas stops .. pulling something big gets to be a hassle with stategic stops
