I would sell it and get an aluminum trailer for the salt. The thing with those steel trailers is you can flush them to kingdom come....chip and paint...and they will fail in a spot you had no idea there was rust. It will happen at 5pm traffic while you are blocking 3 lanes.

A 41 Apache is a heavy boat. So an aluminum trailer would be ideal but have to be stout!!

we use a c channel steel myco...for the last 10 years...no problems.....all how you take care of it.....

aren't the axles on aluminum trailers steel ?

Usually galvanized steel.

My previous boat was on a steel trailer. We put the boat and trailer in salt water all the time. Just be sure to rinse well after both launch and retrieve. Salt water just rinses off, no power wash needed, just be sure to rinse everything really well. Sure, you'll get some rust at some point, but I went 5 years before selling the boat and the trailer was still in great shape. I did touch up any spots that started to rust. It sure won't fall apart in a year or two.
