A really large helicopter with straps...

I'm in the same situation. I'm planning on boating in salt water for the first time this summer but I have a steel trailer. My aim is to hopefully find someone who can crane it in, as I think dipping a steel trailer in salt water is asking for trouble.

find a marina with a boatel

Buy like 20 cases of Flex Seal and get spraying. I have it on good authority that you could install a screendoor in the bottom of your boat and it would still be watertight. It is the handyman in a can!!!

that's why I hate steel trailers. I've had a few boats that came with steel trailers and I dunked them in salt until finding an aluminum. One steel trailer lasted a whole season without ever getting a hole, while another rusted through after 2 months and had to be patch welded just to get to the boat ramp to offload the boat.
A steel trailer is almost worthless if you live on the coast. |
Sell it and get a new trailer. Before I moved from the Great Lakes to VA I found a dealer that let me trade in my steel trailer on a new aluminum trailer.
