I have used these before, come in drop sizes, and you can get them at local TSC. I never broke one pulling 20k worth of stone in a ez-dumper behind a tuned up duramax. I have also used it with a clevis to pull some pretty heavy rigs out of deep holes with long runs on 6" tow straps.

Well let me see if I can stir the pot here. Reese are made in China. Now I noticed even some Curts are now made in China. But compare the two in overall size and weight. Look at the welds. Curts are a lot heavier I wish I could remember were I got the one insert but it is a solid steel 2" insert with a 4" drop and not a hollow one. Watch your pin rating too.

This is the one that I haven't worn out yet:
http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Access...er/RM-061.html They make them for a 2" hitch and a 2.5" hitch. I put a couple spacers on it, and really torque it down with a breaker bar. On a recent 2500 mile towing round trip, it was still tight when I came home. Lol and Doh ! |
We use that rust stuff here too. The only downside is its always in and sooner or later you will forget it is until your knees remind you. OUCH!

$30. You're welcome. Did the same search. No need to pay 2-3x
