Class V Hitch

What are you guys using for a ball mount. The Gen Y seem nice?

This. And I like it a lot. 14K capacity, easy adjustment for height and I got it free from a relative...

I am not a fan of those adjustable hitches for towing. I don't like all the movement in them and much prefer specific solid drawbars for each trailer. As a matter of fact, I have a contraption I bought that snugs my drawbar into the receiver making the whole setup quite solid and QUIET.

Good point. I tow so little that I don/t mind the slop and rattle. Were I doing more towing and for longer diatances I'd be there with you having dedicated drawbars for each trailer.

What is the gizmo you have that takes tightens things up? I smell a new gadget that I need!

I have wrapped tape around my receiver and then crammed it in there before to quiet it down... way ghetto yes lol.

Thanks guys. I would like to get something with a rating over 14K. What do you think of this one

That's a nice looking insert, I bet it's pricey! The only problem is it's a straight bar, you usually have to have a rise or drop insert to get the trailer level. Nice seeing you at the Thunder Run at Tarpon Point!

Sydwayz - what contration are you using to stop the slop on a straight draw bar? That slop drives me crazy!

Sydwayz 03-26-2015 08:58 AM

This is the one that I haven't worn out yet:

They make them for a 2" hitch and a 2.5" hitch. I put a couple spacers on it, and really torque it down with a breaker bar. On a recent 2500 mile towing round trip, it was still tight when I came home.

^ Interesting I like that!
