I seriously contemplated trading it in for new, but I cannot swallow the $ hit, it's just too much for a 3 year old truck, high retail was $35K on a 2013.

If you buy a 2015 / 2016 with say, 5K miles on it, does the 100K warranty transfer? Anyone have that answer?

Wonder what the D O D G E dealer would take for it......

The 2015 trucks have a 100k powertrain warranty. I read somewhere that the 2016 trucks warranty will only be 60k.

The '16 Chevy powertrain warranty will go to 60K. We've been told "The Voice of the Customer" IE market research has indicated that length of powertrain warranty ranks very low in the decision making process.

I'm not saying I agree with that assessment, but it's what we're being told.

I don't believe the supplemental coverage on the D-Max is changing but we're waiting for confirmation of that fact.

I'm not aware of anyone who hasn't had teething problems with the DEF systems & that includes machinery, farm equipment, semi-tractors, motorhomes etc etc.

Fortunately most of our concerns have been addressed to the point where issues now are pretty rare. We still see "stuff" because "stuff happens", but it's no longer the common "see it on all of them" type problems.

Now that the manufacturers sorta-kinda have a handle on it, the Feds will no doubt change their requirements.
