I have painted mirror caps. I am looking for a vendor that has a chrome cap. Other than that me likes.. Put my TRUMP sticker on the back. Done http://money.cnn.com/2016/09/14/auto...l-cars-mexico/ Heard on the way home they are investing over a billion in the new plant. Remember a modern production plant also has lots of skilled techs and engineers keeping those lines running. Loosing those positions to. |

Love that color. Loading up the bikes in the back even for me at 6'5" would be a stretch LOL

Mine arrived this morning, picking it up tonight.

Just ordered 9/30 a F350 Black Platinum Ultimate SRW shorty. Can't wait to see what the P-29
looks like behind it. |

That is one mean looking truck. Im going to buy a new Chevy or Ford probably next year. Not quite ready to get rid of my Ol' Betsy Silvy SS and step up yet.

I hear you on that. I do some scouting on where I plan to load/unload bikes on Google Earth and the like in my destinations or transition areas. I have located a loading dock near where we stay in Key West where I can back the truck up, and use no ramps. Same thing in my backyard, as I have an old Civil War mound (from when troops buried in for an ambush), where I will ride the bike up on the mound, then back the truck up to it. Looking for ditches and elevation changes in parking lots is key.

What is the reasoning for making reasonably lifted trucks illegal?

It looks like Ford still hasn't fully baked (pun intended) their DPF system, even on this 2017:

|
In all seriousness, what's causing these DPF fires on Fords?
It doesn't sound like Cummins or Duramaxs are having this problem. DPF fires have been blamed for quite a few grass/brush fires, and if you were stuck in traffic next to Corvette or another car without a metal body, you would literally catch the car on fire (aside from just doing paint damage or perhaps melting a bumper). |
Ford doesn't have dpf fires! This was one above got a def tank full of diesel. I believe the dealer did it and bought it back. I'm really surprised this truck would run with the exhaust that hot too. These trucks shut down instantly if there is a egt sensor failure or exhaust issue.
|
Are you kidding all I have to do is put Diesel in my def tank? What about 110 race gas. Way Cool!! You tube here I come......

Correct, exactly right.
I've never been to a truck stop in NJ. Do they have mandatory full service for big rigs there too? |
Dealer text me my build date 11/15 and vin # hopefully I'll have it by the first of December. When do you guys think I will take delivery?

Just hauled a tractor about 150 miles. 12,000 lb trailer Did OK. Rear is a little soft but I'm adding bags as soon as the kit is available. I did have to gusset the stock hitch though. The hitch flex on my first tow was way too crazy. Just two short pieces of 3" channel. 3 hrs drop the hitch, weld er up, back up and bolted on.

Something that just came to my attention a few weeks ago: the long bed trucks now have a 4" longer wheelbase. They slid the rear axle back, all varieties of long bed trucks; regardless of cab and SRW/DRW configs.
It definitely looks different, maybe even a little "off". I'm curious about three things for those of you guys in the know: 1) WHY exactly did they do this? 2) How is city driveability? Does the longer wheelbase hurt turning and maneuverability? (I have not dug up turning radius specs yet.) 3) How it towing with the longer wheel base? Longer wheel bases typically 4) Where do you put the center of the 5th wheel/Gooseneck hitch now? Do you center it in the bed, or put it directly over the rear axle? http://images.auction123.com/773635b....jpg?wtrmk1024 http://images.auction123.com/773635b....jpg?wtrmk1024 http://images.auction123.com/b6bc082....jpg?wtrmk10nw http://www.tfltruck.com/wp-content/u...-gooseneck.jpg http://autoguide.com.vsassets.com/bl...er-Duty-21.jpg |
This video makes it look like the 5th wheel might be a shade ahead of the rear axle.
