Is the 2013 going to be trade in or sold out right ??

I have lightly considered going with both if I can find a good deal on an F-650 or just keeping the truck I have now and adding an F-650 to the garage. Many of the trucks out there are highly customized thus highly driving up the asking prices (although true selling price might be significantly less). I did see a 2008 F650 Excursion setup for sale with lower miles. But they still want $139k for it. That just seems like a lot for a 10 year old vehicle....

After hauling from FLL to Tickfaw and back the 650 is the way for long hauls. And I have put almost everything in or out at several ramps with the Brand X 650 and 2wd has never been an issue.
Steve Freeman drives his 650 all over Atlanta every day so he would be a good resource. I have the Kelderman 4-link front and rear air so the ride isn't as bad as some.

I have a 2017 F350 LB and tow a Nordic Flame. It is plenty of truck, and for DD it will be way better than the 650. I did 3 link, bags, trac bars and some King 2.5 Res shocks on mine...

I will probably trade it in if I go with an F350. For the F650 route, I will probably have to sell it outright as a trade-in is probably not a possibility.

We just bought an 07 F650 Cat/Allison from Supertrucks. Its more of a toy since I'm only towing a 27' boat, but it is a phenomenal road hauler and having 214 gallons of gas is really nice. With the Kelderman Air Ride front suspension, I would equate the ride to my 6" lifted 02 F350 with front leaf springs. Driving down torn up surface streets sucks, but normal roads and highways is really nice. The Super Singles are supposed to ride a little softer. Keep in mind, its dimensionally no bigger than a F350 dually, its just taller, so anywhere you can take a dually, you can take the 650.

For towing a 42' boat, I wouldn't consider anything but a 650 honestly. The big thing, especially if you're towing all over for poker runs, is not having to find a gas station that your rig can fit in every 300-400 miles like you will with the 350. At 70mph, mine gets 13-14mpg (doesn't change towing my little boat), anything over 70mph and it starts to drop off (specific to the Cat motor).

13-14 MPG is really good for a truck that size/weight. That is better than I was expecting for sure.

I'm not sure what the 6.7 Powerstroke motors get for gas mileage. But I know they de-rate the 6.7 when they put them in the 650, down to 725ft-lbs of torque instead of 900 in the 250/350 trucks. I'm sure the big name diesel tuners could take care of that if you wanted more power. The Cat motor is 900ft-lbs I think.

What's a 2wd F650 like in the snow or off road?? (I know the OP is tx, but thought I'd ask)

My wife and I daily drive our F650 and LOVE it! We are looking for a 6 door next and plan to daily drive that, so ours is for sale.

I personally would get a used 650 with the bigger diesels, the new ones are way under powered with the derrated pickup engine and trans. Plus the amount of money you save buying a used 650 will go a long way compared to a new one!

Your wife having a F150 helps also since you can drive that.

You don't ever need 4wd until you need 4wd.
