The guy that was building new Excursions noted on his website he was still going to build the 6 door trucks but discontinue the Excursions. I think he was having trouble finding clean rear donor clips to install.

Stay inside your tow rating, Good trailer breaks and Never get lazy with your turns or breaking. Big difference in a 30ish boat and a 50ish boat.
I know a ton of guys (friends) say there SRW 1 tons are great as long as the trailers are maintained, but they are still outside their tow ratings. If you get merged into or cut off from all the idiots out there, 4 tires will give you a much better chance than 2. Boat and trailer weigh a LOT more than the truck.
