There's one of each (both silver) sitting right outside my office in the hangar. The Ferrari is twice the price and pretty close to being twice the car. I haven't driven a car in a long time that pulls as hard as the 575M does in second gear- the paddle shifters take a little getting used to. A pretty lumpy and throaty sounding V-12 in it too. Great balance for a front-engine car.
Both are EXTREMELY good looking autos- the Mercedes is more refined and gentleman-like.
I'd take the Ferrari.

which F1 team had more points than all other teams combined this season???
I love german cars (Bimmer that is) and i like the new CL adn SL but that is a damn yugon compared to the maranello.
Let not forget the maranello has been mentioned in the same sentence as best sports car ever by several major automotive magazines. Might not be teh fastest ceratinly isn't eth chheapest but it has everything. It doe sevrything well. It fast, handles like a mother has great appointments and is a beutiful design that wil stand the test of time.
The benz is this years nice new model.
