Best way to transport new truck
 

What's the best way to get a new F450 from Jacksonville NC to near Ft Lauderdale?
It's about 800 miles.

U ship?
Hire a driver? - I have a guy that is highly recommended
Fly there and get it myself?

In the end the $$ are all about the same (except I don't have to pay myself). I'm most concerned about damage.

Did I mention that my 16 year old F350 with less than 28,000 miles was stolen out of my driveway :(

I figure this is a great place to ask.

Fly up and drive it back.

After wrestling with it for a few hours I decided that is what I am going to do.

Drive it over to my house. I'll swap you a nice 2018 so you don't have to deal with that new truck smell. LOL

I had the same dilemma when I bought my last truck a few years ago and about 700 miles away in Dallas. I flew in and hung out and stayed with an old friend and then drove it home the next day.

On a good (weather) day - it's a good drive from NC to Lauderdale that is usually uneventful if you can time going around Jacksonville, Florida so you don't hit major traffic.

FWIW, we run with the WAZE app for a heads up on troopers/radar or heavy traffic or acciedents ahead.

You will definitely know if you like the truck after the 11 hour drive.
