I just installed the Z36 kit on my 18 Duramax after reading this thread. I can not tell any difference in these brakes from the factory ones. I did the break in procedure exactly as stated, but have only driven it maybe 50 miles. Do they get better with time? I haven't towed with it yet.

They are not even broken in yet. You will notice the difference when towing for certain. And the main thing is you will not have to worry about warping the rotors.

My experience isnt necessarily that they stop better, but durability of components and lower dusting, versus a lot of others.

Just updating my findings with the Z36 kit on my Duramax 2500. I have now put a couple thousand miles on them, mostly towing. I cannot tell one bit of difference over the factory brakes. They may make less dust, but the brake feel and stopping power is no better that the factory brakes on my application. They may be great on a vehicle that has sub-par brakes from the factory, but the brakes on my truck were excellent to begin with. I personally can't justify almost double the cost of the factory setup on my truck.

On my previous truck, a '19 2500 Ram cummins, I was never happy with the braking ability. I then installed Power Stop Z36 pads on the front and wow what a difference in braking power. And less dust, no noise. I'm going to do that to my new F350 soon.

Different for everyone...
But the PowerStop rotors definitely cool themselves better than stock. I think you will see an improvement over time. I've never warped a PowerStop Z36 rotor. But I have warped stock rotors more times than I can count.

I put the Z36 Powerstop with slotted & drilled rotors on my 1500 Sierra at 78k. I've just now started feeling a bit of pulsing but they still do a great job at 168k! . Yes.... that's 90,000 miles on a set of replacements! It's my daily and I don't do a ton of heavy towing but it sees a majority of city stop & go. I will use them again without a doubt.
