Is regards to grade-5 vs grade-8, there's a lot more to it than which is stronger. Corrosion resistance being one example, ability to bend vs break is another good point made prev.
Correct I swapped out the coupler for one that had 5/8 holes in it and has a 21k rating as opposed to 15k the first one had. I reused the 5/8 hardware the trailer came with. I'll feel better towing with that setup over the other one. I could have it welded for even more security but I don't think that's necessary.
