Hey Artic or anyone else. I just want to confirm. Are you saying when I change tranny fluid use the Transynd GM Part No. 12378515 instead of the Dexron III? I see in the manual their saying use Transynd for the manual trans. but still Dexron III for the automatic.

I think the Duramax/Allison combo combined with a a chip aqnd exhaust is such an awesome setup. It towed my boat with such ease you hardly knew it was back there.

#1 go to phone book, find Mack dealer.
#2 go see them and buy a 5 gal. pail of TranSyn D. It'll have a proprietary Allison label on it. The best guesses are that it's manufactured by Citgo/Texaco, though you can't buy it from them easily...if at all. #3 if you're not comfy doing the flush to the TS D yourself, the shop will have the equipment to do it. #4 WARNING...this is not a cheap project whether you do it yourself or not...but well worth it. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER buying that fluid from GM. There won't be much lube left after they run in into you for the fluid and charge you $25+ for the $7 spin on filter. FIND AN ALLISON DEALER. |
