1998 280 with 502 mag. Stock except for lightning headers and labbed 26 Hydromotive 4 blade, 73 mph on gps, 1 foot chop , 2 people 1/2 tank of gas.

1985 22' with 2000 225 Merc, with low water pickup and nose cone, 5600 rpm, 24 4 blade stiletto, 72 mph on gps

Our old 1985 30' with twin second effort v6 johnsons ran 74 at 6200 RPM with 4 blade spinnelis

Tom, Steve's getting ready to start a new project boat to race this year. We'll see how she does. If it's good,I'll have one built next year in a pleasure boat version.Then I'll start tearing up the river again.

I must be doing something wrong, I have a 2000 280 with a 502/415 and all I can get is 69MPH with half a tank of gas and a 2 foot chop!!!!! 26 pitch four blade.

My brother has a 280 with a 496/425 hp and runs 72 mph Call mike at halls prop. You have to run a hydro. done by him.

Thong, Lab the prop and Mike @ Halls is the best. You might look at headers to pick up a little more.

Look man, the wife has to sign off on that one. I'd take your boat in a second but you got to get the wifes ok first.

Pull her aside when we go to D-B's in FEB. If you can pull it off I'll be your ***** at the next Velocityfest.
