New design this year for velocity. I would email scott at the manufacture he could probally give ya all the specs.Powerboat tested it they said 80mph+. http://velocityboats.com/VR-1TEST.htm
My 260 will do about 68, with the 7.4mpi, which is fast enough for me.

Default Velocity VR1

Hutchinson's had one at the Syracuse Boat show. Obviously very similar to the 280. Great graphics. Very expensive. I'll have to spend some time crawling around underneath it when I get up to the River and see how the bottom compares. I would bet the pad is a little wider and/or longer.

With good power the 280 is a great all around boat. I like the VR-1 but enjoy the extra height in the cabin of my 280.
