41 Kal Custom Velocity
Does anyone have any contact info on the 41 Kal Custom boat that was owned by Karl Coster,also does anyone have any photos of this boat.Any info would be appreciated. :D

Karl Koster proprietor of Cal Custom, and raced it with his daughter Kelly I believe.

I have been trying to track down the boat to try and buy it,from what I have been able to come up with someone in Texas owns it and occassionaly runs it in poker runs.Phantom I will post some pictures of my boat tommorrow ,or I will at least try I have been having computor problems.

This boat was way ahead of it's time...way prior to the "sit down, big boat" craze.
Also it is, I believe, in reality...the first "390" as we know it today. I believe his daughter Kelly throttled when they raced it on the west coast. |

I always thought it was "cut down"...though perhaps not as much taken off the hullsides as today's 390. Those had to be some pretty tall seat bases in that boat! |

Mike at hulls has it I just bought a 540 to put in it. We wanted some thing to run up and down the St.Johns with and mabe run p5 this year.

Well can we get back to the 41 that I am trying to find,any info would be appreciated,Thanks.Dont get me wrong I love to here about all of the other boats but I am looking for this one.PS Who is going to the Lake Norman run,just curious who is going we are planning to go and we are hoping for a good turn out. :D

Pete and Tom I spoke to Steve and he seems to think that a guy in Texas owns it still,I am still looking.I am going to use my 320 until I find it if I never do it wont kill me.Who is going to go to the North Carolina run Fun run,we are planning on going to meet up with Steet and crew on lake Norman. :evilb:

Hey Pete,I am plannin on going down,Steve and Zeek are going to go also,are you gonna bring the Fountain with you.I would, not even though it is Fountain Country,it would be a shame to WOOP UP ON YOU in your old boat. :D Seriously,are you gonna try to come down it should be a good time.Mike do you have a set of five blade Hydros ,29 or 31 pitch available to try while we are down there,I am tired of buying Props and only being able to use them once and sit them on a shelf,it is starting to get expensive.Let me know. :D

Hey Pete,buy a Fountain and slow down,not gonna happen.As for you showing me how to make it go faster,that is almost as funny as you saying buy a Fountain. :D NC will be the weekend before Labor Day I do believe,I will let you know,are you going to try and go.As for the props,I want to try to find the best set up possible and when I say it gets loose you will have to run it to see what I mean,loose is fast I know but still in search of something a little better if it is out there.

Yup Mike has been thrashing all week to get the boat ready for sarasota. Im thinking of skipping Jacksonville this year and going to hartwell instead. Then Mike from halls just called and said he wants to run the dog again this year! in p5! WHAT THE HELL ! its only money!
