Thong sorry you could not make it work. How ya been brother?

Thong Fellow 02-10-2007 06:19 PM

real good mike and yourself??

The 322 in Powerboat Magazine did not get the best reviews from the test drivers on the Performance side or the fit and finish and I have one stupid question. Why would you send a performance boat to a PERFORMANCE trial and put wimpy small blocks in it that will only push it 66 or 68 MPH.Not very smart. That performance review will do alot for buisness.

Oh Deere 02-11-2007 08:14 AM

Nice review to read while almost through building one. Comforting.

Karaokemike 02-11-2007 09:33 AM

Doing well just moving along....how is the house?

Thong Fellow 02-11-2007 02:34 PM

Its coming right along you should come up sometime for a cold one.

I know what you mean,I can tell you that my 320 with a pair of 625 Plus HP engines runs 30 MPH faster than that is mind boggling,I do not understand why Velocity would not send that boat with a pair of 600s in it instead of such lame power for the entire country to read about is crazy to me,so instead of everyone seeing the good and positives of the line they read about a slow porposing boat with some other issues that to me is just crazy.

This along with the Herring should provide a better write-up.

suntimes 02-11-2007 10:42 PM

The 322 tested in the July issue of Speedboat got good reviews. It had twin 496HOs with 32" Bravo One props and ran 87 mph.

Oh Deere 02-12-2007 08:33 PM

We hope to do better than 87 with this setup, without the porposing. Should know shortly.

Thong Fellow 02-13-2007 11:35 AM

All right whats the the power??????? Is that a # 6 on there?? I don't hydralic steering???

We (I) need more pics.

Hope you can bring it to Velocity fest this year cause were going to be in A.C. should be a litttle closer for ya.

Yes, definitely keep us informed. I'm interested to see how your combo works out and the details :D

Oh Deere 02-13-2007 03:11 PM

It has a single 700/NXT package. Once dialed in with the a Merc prop, we are switching to a Herring. 4 redesigned bolsters and a cut down windscreen, so it will be unique. It is considerably lighter and should have a much better CG than twins. The 30" tabs will help also. Should be tested and ready for Sarasota.

FunHome 02-13-2007 04:06 PM

I like the 322, its the old 30ft hull that started it all!! I can't wait to hear how your turns out Oh, Deere!!

Padraig 02-13-2007 09:44 PM

So, I ask again, <g> has any one drivebn a 322?

VT32SSR 02-14-2007 07:02 PM

I think you will have one of the nicest single engine boats in the country! Just for fun, I'll guess 94mph top speed with the merc prop

It's looking good! 4 electric stand-ups with a jump seat/cooler/locker in the middle? I was wondering what the deck fitting that's on the starboard side near the front of the boat is for?
Can't wait to hear the numbers :)

Thong Fellow 03-10-2007 06:20 AM

That fitting is the water fill. Its leads to a lager blatter under the V-Berth that supplys the water to the head.

wananewboat 03-10-2007 07:18 AM

Why does that boat remind me of a tractor? Is that one of those MTI theme boats? :evilb:

Oh Deere 03-10-2007 04:23 PM

Thanks Dean. I stoped short of theme. Hopefully I don't have to put one of those reclective triangles on the back. You still up for Sarasota?

Thong Fellow 03-10-2007 07:15 PM

O-D what about the power????? We need pix of the power man. With two power bolsters in the back does the seat pull forward like the others???

Here is the power. The seats do not pull forward. We have considered making access behind the storage box, but has not been neccessary. Could be done quite easily though. The nice thing about the water take in the V-berth is that it can also be used as balast too. And yes, the ladies like plumming.

suntimes 03-11-2007 09:02 PM

Ahhh... port-injected supercharger...Yeah, I've thought that an access opening in front of the engine would be very convenient to get to the circ pump, hoses, etc. Looks like lots of room in the engine bay with all the hydraulics on the transom and the hatch lift is even out of the way--that's the best place I've seen it.

Thong Fellow 04-03-2007 05:05 AM

O-D,

Do you have any #'s for us yet????

Oh Deere 04-03-2007 01:18 PM

Nothing to speak of yet. Having a hell of a time getting the right test prop from Merc. Now that they have gone CNC, the old test props dont seem to be available. All of the cleaver props that they have are too big of pitch (twin applications), and all of the maximus are too small of diameter....way too much slip. The boat needs to run a big diameter in order to stay with the high x and keep the torpedo out of the water. Should be more testing over the next few weeks. We know what is needed, it is just a matter of it happening.

I should add that Velocity has done a fantastic job on the build. This is probably the best attention to detail and workmanship I have seen from Velocity.

Sick Stinger 04-03-2007 05:00 PM

Oh boat looks sweet love the velocitys and there classic lines i know if i ever sell my t-breb it will only be for nother velocity, also good luck with it love the color sceme

Thong Fellow 04-05-2007 04:07 AM

Keep us posted.

wananewboat 04-07-2007 05:10 PM

I would think that Velocity should be calling every prop company they can think of to get a prop that would work. It's like selling a car without tires.
