Default Cmi Unitops

Trying to make my exhaust choice before spring sneaks up on me. Anyone installed CMI UNITOPs on their velocity? Were there any installation issues?

I have them on my 23'er. The only issue was that I had side exhaust, the tails had to be cut down and I had to find tight radius 90's in stainless. Other than that, no issues

PB, I would be putting them on the 260 and wasn't sure if they would line up correctly in the "stock Bravo" location. Looking back, do you think they were worth the extra money? .........by the way, nice avatar!

I have them on my 260. The boat originally had a 496 which I changed to a 502 with Brodix heads. I had to relocate my exhaust holes in the transom to make the Unitops fit. Off about an inch. Not that hard to do. I think the 496 engine measures a little different. I love the nice smooth look of the Unitops with no collar. What engine are you running?

I am running a 502 carb motor that I put together right now but I also have the 7.4 MPI that came out of it from the factory as a spare. I keep going back and forth with what exhaust I want. I have decided on dana one week, gil the next, stainless the week after that and I keep coming back to the Unitops. I like the look of them and the ability to easily get to your plugs. Trying to decide if they are worth the extra $$ to me. I don't want to get into relocating the transom holes.

I don't think you will have to relocate transome holes with your application. The 454 and 502 should match up the same. I think the only reason mine didn't match up was I went from the 496 to a 502.

Even if your exhaust holes are off by a an inch or two, you can make it up in less than a foot with Trident blue silicone exhaust hose. I have used it a few times and the its flexibility makes it a dream to work with.

I measured the distance from the end of the header to the transom. Only had 3". Probably could have made it work, but figured I'd just do it right and move my holes.
