Default Info on this rough Velocity

Any info on this ride would be great. Hull defects, previous owners input. Looks like a turd but has potential I just bought it sight unseen for $12,500 on a trailer. I saw it on Ebay 18 mths ago the engines are 540's not 502's, build sheets and dyno's are 820 hp each @78hrs engine time since rebuild. The guy who bought it paid $33,000 used it twice and blew a lower drive, then lost the boat to the bank. The guy I bought it off, bid on it 18 mth ago at a repo bank sale, forgot about it,and was called. He already bought a newer boat but was bound by contract to purchase this one. This is where I come in. The boat has lots of goodies, engines, exhaust, steering ect.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN:IT&ih=008

Andy, I live in OK and haven't seen the boat except on ebay. Looks like you have plenty of work ahead of you. Good luck.

There seems to be a lot of talk about the handling of Velocitys, that you have to be careful and drive through chine walk. I almost flipped a Checkmate that started to chine walk and I tried to drive though it.

The Velocity is a pad bottomed boat and at speed it runs or actually flies on the pad and it takes a little getting used to but once you have gotten the knack for running the boat it is really very simple and easy to do.The Checkmate is not a pad bottomed boat, actually if I remember correctly it has a rounded bottom towards the back of the boat that makes it very difficult to operate at higher speeds.

Andy, looks like a good project boat!!! The 30 Velocity's are capable of 100mph + with the right power! As Hyper stated above running the pad bottom at speeds takes some getting use to!

You will upset alot of people with minimal investment! It will out run and out perform alot of high dollar boats when you get it done!

If you want to make a little bit of money on it let me know!!!!

Thanx for the offer but I think I will keep it for a while. I have 7K to spend on parts and own a auto shop so labour is free. I am looking for a TRS drive
