never been to the dyno but i think i'm running 1000-1100hp
a friend in northern va had his engine dynoed by sonny leanard and he made 980hp. we both have very similar setups in 260 velos and the best he could get his to run was 108mph

My 2000, 260 with 454 Mag MPI, Arazona Speed and Marine EFI upgrade, Eddie Marine exhaust. I am guessing 425-440HP ran 74-76 GPS, with no handling issues. Tabs and Hydraulic steering too.

Thanks for the info guys.
My 1999 28 Velocity is the same length as the older 26 right?
The newer 26 is smaller then my boat right?
Confusion with including the swim platform or not I guess...
So my boat should top 70 with the 502Mag.

the bottom of my boat was straight from the factory, but i have sharpened all of the strakes on the bottom and squared off the back edge of the hull. i originally saw no differance in speed but i have set up another 260 velo with basically the same engine and drive combo and to date i have driven his boat to 109mph. the only other thing i have done to my boat that i have not done to his is the bottom, i have checked his for straightness. the x dim on his boat is also .25in lower than my boat so that could be the addional drag slowing him down. just my .02

i have also found that wax on the bottom of the hull tends to scrubb off speed because it grabs and holds the water, i use polish (3m for ex) to keep mine clean, a little more work but im looking for top speed

Stinger how fast have you been so far? I am running in the high eighties with new motors that are finally breaking in. The chine walk on my boat with twins is minimal. The hull likes chop to free up the hull. It's definately a drivers boat, but, if I wanted something easier to drive I would have bought a cat. The kittys bore me though even around 100.Talk about blower whine. My twin 280s' sitting above the transom scream!! Hope to meet you and hyper sometime next year. Norman would be ideal! Merry Christmas to all!!!!

Hey Bob, Motor isnt fully broken in yet. Ive only taken it to 70 (with the new motor). I havent even made boost with it yet. best the motor saw was about 4K. The best my boat saw with my 509/675 h.p. was 81.7 that was also supercharged with a B&M 250 twin 750's. From talking to a few people this should see mid to high 90's if i can maybe break the triple. I have dyno sheets of 930 h.p. so next year ill bring it out screaming
