Like Lance, Bill and Dwayne said, Velocity Fest is not about being first to a stop or beating up your equipment in the rough water. We like to run as a group at a pace that is comfortable for smaller boats AND the passengers which often includes wives (like mine) and girlfriends that don't enjoy getting bruised. We'll slow down and regroup if someone falls behind so they didn't get lost in unfamilar waters. It's a long 2 day cruise and you really need to preserve your equipment as it's a long way back on one engine or under tow. Safety is absolutely paramount so everyone needs to act mature and keep the egos in check. There are plenty of other Poker Runs and indeed races out there if running hard and being first is what you really want. The Velocity Fest cruise has a different purpose which is mostly social, meeting fellow owners and getting together after the boats are tied up for the night.
Sounds like a great event. Can't wait to meet fellow velocity owners....

Well it looks like its gonna be a fun run to me.... I'll just hang back and take in the scenery. And little bro, you don't have to hitch a ride you can drive my slow ride but don't buy into that last one buys . I barely have enough for gas let alone all the beer those guys can drink. LOL Curt

Welcome to the Circus Bro! I already opted out of the "Last one to the dock" game! I went over to give our ol' cuz a hand tonight in hopes of driving the BIG boat!!
If that doesn't pan out I will gladly pilot yours! We will need a good water forecast from Thong Fellow before I give up on the 22 though. I'll have the tabs on it by then I hope!!
