Im posive about that statement Hyper no worries here. Ill have the throttle to the dash the whole time if need be im way to competitve to ever be last. Ill change it out to a 14-71 blower and a maxx drive if need be. SO yes im positve thatnks for the reassurence.

When the bay kicks up, your 930hp engine isn't gonna help you get there any quicker than 300hp. We were lucky with a beautiful day during the last V-Fest. Its not normally like that once you get south of the northern bay.

Well then i will see what im made of out there wont I. I run to block island a few times a year so ocean gets pretty messy to. Mount hope bay going to Newport gets a chop going pretty go from the winds out of the west . Ill take my chances.

Chesapeake means bring spare parts,you will see water conditions different here than anywhere else,I can guarentee it.Oh did I mention the amount of boats on the bay throwing 6 & 8 foot waves off of them because they can not get on plane and how confused they can get from time to time.I can not wait.With Sting and Vicious buying we will have alot of extra gas money and with what happend last time I will need it.:D

Hey Hyper, we are pulling the aux. fuel tank out of my brothers boat, you interested in it!

Naaaaaaa,I installed a 2.0 litre 125 hp engine in the boat,it will get me to Red Eyes in 2.3 days with no broken drives,do you think I will have to buy everyopne drinks :hitfan:because with the upgrades I am broke.PS Auxillary tank I have my boy Steve, he wont leave me hangin.

The bolt holes are still on the platform for a small O/B,maybe we could give you some competition.

Mike, i don't think anyone is trying to call you out on your driving skills. I think they are just stressing that this is a "fun run" and not a race. Most guys doing this thing will be there for an enjoyable boat ride and then a fun night at the bar with other velocity owners. Safety is the most important thing on that trip.

LOL...I am not going there :p Speaking of the boat, it is coming along nicely, back seat is rebuilt, zeiger dual ram hydraulic steering came in last week and wind screen will be here next tuesday. I will post some pics when we get closer to completion.

The beak has an anchor locker in that space, which is somewhat handy, and I occasionally enjoy sitting on the swim platform. Must be a lot of Velocity owners enjoy a platform also, in that all the newer ones now have that feature. So, I'm just fine paying for the whole thing just as it is.

And I believe I'll just let Mrs. Bill do his pudd pullin', if he's happy, all is good.:cool-smiley-026:

Well guys i got my arm oprtated on on monday. The doctor say ill be in a split for 8 to 12 weeks and rehab for 6 to 8 months.

ill have play it buy ear weather or not chris i and i will be trere. maybe drive down to redeyes and meet you guys.

im in and out with the meds they hav me on for pain so bear with the type o 's.

6-8 months? Man what did you have done? My 75 yr old father in law just had both knees replace at the same time in Jan and he's ready to go! Hope you heal faster then that!

tore all my bicep tending off the the bone at my elbow had to reattach with some bolts

Like Lance, Bill and Dwayne said, Velocity Fest is not about being first to a stop or beating up your equipment in the rough water. We like to run as a group at a pace that is comfortable for smaller boats AND the passengers which often includes wives (like mine) and girlfriends that don't enjoy getting bruised. We'll slow down and regroup if someone falls behind so they didn't get lost in unfamilar waters. It's a long 2 day cruise and you really need to preserve your equipment as it's a long way back on one engine or under tow. Safety is absolutely paramount so everyone needs to act mature and keep the egos in check. There are plenty of other Poker Runs and indeed races out there if running hard and being first is what you really want. The Velocity Fest cruise has a different purpose which is mostly social, meeting fellow owners and getting together after the boats are tied up for the night.

Lots of space up there in the beak, full sized danforth style stainless steel anchor that is polished up to a mirror finish, with a 150' of line and 6' of polished stainless chain, standard equiptment with this manufacturer, nothing but the best. Gotta love it. :D
