Just saw your post we are easy to find. Good luck with your project it sounds like it will be nice. I also run a 1071 without an innercooler on a smaller motor than Garys. As for the NACA ducts I don't think that 2 are enough to feed 800+ HP, I bought a second set from Steve last year and just have not had a chance to install them yet. Also I have not given up on the Shortie yet just have not played with much because I only have one prop that I can run with it.

I have 4 naca ducts in my boat two that feed directly into in carb and two that feed into the engine compartment. I also have two more that feed out of the hull.

I am going to pull my hatch apart this weekend and see what I can come up with. I feel that I can make this work without a big hood scope, maybe I can just cut out the foam and put a little raise in the vinyl. I can keep you guys informed on my project and i'll try and figure out how to put some pics. on here. One other question for you guys. The steering on my boat is a full hydraulic system, but it only has one ram. Do you fell this is enough with my setup?

2 naca ducts are sufficent, as for the drive i would definatly start with the standard lenght but i would plan on investing in a imco sc or at least a xr befor long. I put single rams on boats below 90mph and anything faster i always reccomend duel rams, i find it makes the boat a little better in the handling department when trimming

STolts, I already did what you did over the winter and just finished last week call me if you want. I have a 572 with a 10-71 superchiller intercooler on a 93 26 Velocity/Tbred Kevlar.

I have all 4 facing to the read and a scoop. 1 to clear the sunpad and another to get enough air to feed it.
