Would I also see an improvment in handling in my 1986 30' by going to a larger K plane?

At least you would have the opportunity for better handling if you had them, they certainly wouldn't hinder you. I vote yes.

That looks like a fun place Hyper, I checked it out on their website, I won't be able to go, I'm on a well from hell and having to fight it all the way. Drink one for me.

Maybe Notda1 will chime in. He use to run 100+ in his old 30. I'm sure he would know what would work better!!!

Heres what I did to my 380's. There pretty aggressive,So far I really probably didn't need them ,,mainly was trying to stabilize the boat at and above 100.

Yes but be careful with the bigger tabs on a 30 { as opposed to a 38} there is a bigger chance of over using them and tripping the boat. I know first hand it can be ugly tripping a 30.

Big tabs on a big boat like a 38 is a better match. Big tabs on a 30 you need to be careful.

Things happen. That didn't even look that bad of a hop. We tried the long tabs on the 38 fever we raced and chose not to use them.

On the 30's I ran the 280 tabs worked well. I ran them between 2 and 4 never more than 4 at speed. Also raced a 30 with big tabs.

everyone has there own preferences.
