What year was the BFI 38 Velocity built?

Natda1 ownes that boat now, old BFI . I think it is stamped in the hull as a 1987. That was and still is a bad ass ride. The boat is a little on the heavy side as for todays standards but it loves rough water. Been in and drove it many times and never disappointed. BOB

Measures 39ft 10in is fun to drive in ruff water . I still miss driving my old 30 . I have been thinking about a newer 39 to liven things up . I have put a lot into this one .Would be willing to sell with or with out motors if I could get a fair price ? Put new staggard 900hp motors , Stelling exhust ,Bam 1500 transmissions and rebuilt the drives .Anyone interested let me know it is an amazing ride :cool-smiley-011:

Jay Wolfe, I owned a 22' 1985 for twenty years up till 2006 when I finally sold it. I have a copy of the Feb 1985 powerboat magazine performance test. The boat in the test had a 200hp merc on it and ran 66mph. I enjoyed reading your comments called "following in Steve's steps" you were right on the money with your comments. Bob Nordskog missed the boat when he said "forget the Hydraulic transom plate it's just not necessary". You can control the handling much better with not only the hydraulic lift but also a 6" setback plate. Frank

There's one guy in here putting 12" Imco boxes on a 320. They should admit him.

I thought they did with how long it is taking him to get it done! I guess he is out on "Sane" behavior!?!?!
