There's a Mouse in the house

I was sitting at the Chesapeake inn, on Sunday and I saw (and heard) a monster mouse. I'm not sure when it was brought to life but it was speaking in a low, lumpy, stuttery voice.

Gentlemen, please tell me if I'm wrong, but I didn't here anything on creek, on the bay, or here on our V family page about.....

Dkerns nasty a$$ 406CI mouse.

Dwayne, I need some specs, come on spill it.....

Last I knew it was a good runnin almost stocker.

Sounded great, can't waite to hear the numbers

PS I think Hyper has a spare IMCO SC drive

DiamondPerformance 10-07-2008 06:47 AM

The numbers are real good, for a mouse!

I don't have time to spill the beans right now but IT does run very well.

Thanks to Bill at Diamond Performance (above) I was able to get all the parts to get it up and running this weekend!

But Steve, we upped the gps readings I told you about at lunch! Can you say 83.2 with 1200 rpms left!!!! And It should spin them!

I will fill everyone in later!

Dwayne

With almost 600HP, my guess is that she's going to run at or above 100mph...:evilb::eek::drink:

DKerns 10-07-2008 11:43 AM

See Vicious, Pat was paying attention. I wasn't hiding it, I just put it in under the radar!!!:evilb: I will give some specs and pics later.

Sick Stinger 10-07-2008 01:59 PM

Vicious22 10-07-2008 05:34 PM

All right i was sleeping at the comp. But, DK a one liner on a 600hp sb.

I know this crowd this and thread would draw almost as much attention as the "unscencored" section.

Well I just am not looking for the "don't waste the money, save it for a bigger boat", "put a big block in it", etc. etc. that you normally read when someone mentions upgrading a SB. Not saying that my "Velocity Brothers" would say that, just others!!

That being said, here is a brief run down of what is in the motor. Dart Little M block, Eagle forged crank, H beam rods, forrged Wiseco pistons, Brodix Track 1 heads, Marine Kinetics solid roller cam, Jesel shaft rockers, Edelbrock Super Victor intake, HVH carb. spacer, Holley 950HP carb. It is 406 ci. Made 594hp @ 6200 and 540 ft. lb @ 4200.

I am still running the Alpha drive and at this point, plan on keeping it an Alpha boat. I need to get dual ram hyd. steering over the winter. I also am going to put a Hot Foot throttle and steering wheel mounted trim switch on it. Trim tabs are also on the list. Was told to put K Plane 280s on it. (With that power and the speeds it should run) I will have to see if they are in my budget!

Not one to leave stuff alone, I had to redo the fuel system and the oil system.

The fuel stuff is temporary. I am going to pick up an Eddie Marine seperator mount over the off season to match the oil filter mount.

To be honest with you Mike, it was like it was on rails! I am used to driving it on the pad but the faster it went, the better it felt. Didn't even realize I was going that fast or I would have pulled back on it sooner. I had my son in the boat and it does not have hyd. steering yet!!!

They make them even bigger thanks to Dart blocks!!

DKerns 10-07-2008 09:02 PM

Hey VV, you may be on to something with that pic!

DKerns 10-07-2008 09:04 PM

Vicious, thanks for the compliments by the way! Sorry for withholding info until after the fact!!

Dwayne

Velocity Vector 10-07-2008 10:15 PM

Man that video was awsome, When I get back to the shop I'll see if they have my Hyd. steering rams off for you. Lets not go that fast without them, I know it's hard.

Your motor reminds me of the movie Tommy Boy when he puts the coat on and rips the back out as he say's " Big - man - in - a - little - coat."

But in your case "Big block in a little Mouse"

1HYPER1 10-07-2008 11:00 PM

Did he say Fountain out loud?

notda1 10-08-2008 06:46 AM

Boat looks great , nice clean job on the rigging .Smart to do the steering and tab up grade . Bob and I were talking about it , and we are expecting some where in the triple digit range for top end . Make sure you do the steering before you try WOT. Be safe and have fun . :ernaehrung004:

Sick Stinger 10-08-2008 07:10 AM

I agree also. I have add on and 82 was a little hairy. SO i just bought full for the knew engine of mine. Im pretty sure after the upgrades D did he wont skimp on safty.

I heard that!

Years ago there was a 22 rigged up here with a small block and a Banks turbo kit that ran around 100. I would consider the hyd steering to be the number one priority, for both safety and better handling. Speed is a great thing, but not if you can't use it safely.

DKerns 10-08-2008 11:32 AM

Yes fella's, steering is at the top of my list! I will be looking around for some this winter. Not a bunch of stuff available for the Alpha drive though. Sure limits your options!

Pat McPherson 10-08-2008 12:02 PM

Steering would be the next upgrade I'd do for sure. If you are keeping the Alpha, start with this:
http://www.cpperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=1737
Then you can add a hydraulic helm later.

Sick Stinger 10-08-2008 01:09 PM

D id say Bravo swap is nessasery for the H.P. but all the luck with the alpha. And please no Tripple digit storys of blowing 200 alphas haha. Good Luck man hope to see you and everyone at the V-Fest next year.

Diamond Bill asked me about the foot throttle. I built this small console for the 22

Vicious22 10-10-2008 12:19 PM

Oh, I have a set of Keikafer (sp) shiffter and throttle with trim switch. White powder coat. Let know if you need any details. I'm sure this would also help control her.

As for the foot throttle, I had a Land n Sea which had a link in it, so you could attach a hand throttle to it. So thats how i had both.

It was great for rippin with the foot and then cruisen with then hand throttle. I didn't work to well when hand throttling in the rough water.

Call me if you need any details cell 732-904-2289

That didn't make sence. Bill asked me what kind of foot throttle i had in the 22. I had a land n sea linked to the marine machine throttle set up. Cables went from hand to foot to motor.

Fishen for compliments

DKerns 10-10-2008 11:26 PM

Thanks Vicious. I will be in touch over the weekend. And Bill is the man! Talk about going above and beyond to help a guy out and get info!!!

Velocity Vector, how did you make out on those steering rams!?!?!

Velocity Vector 10-11-2008 07:08 AM

I'm still out on the rig, it will be a couple weeks yet.

Well gentlemen, I have decided on the Bravo. I have started gathering parts with a special thanks to Velocity Vector!! :ernaehrung004:

I will be working on it throughout the winter and would like to have it ready in the spring. I will post pics of the progress!! The motor should be back out in a couple of weeks for some minor upgrades and some "bling"!!:cool-smiley-011:

Velocity Vector 11-01-2008 02:14 PM
