Mr Hot Stepper,

Please see pics posted by Mr. DKerns. Evidence of what can happen when you miss the trailer.

You can aim a Fountain at the trailer, however that does not mean it will land on it.
But ........................................... the smart one's do!

Come on. Hours of seat time helps but not with bad habits , I have the hardest time getting the bad habits out of drivers, All I can say is, Self taught driving skills sometimes comes at the ultatimate price or the price of someones life. Famous last words,* I can drive just fine* I dont think you will find one person that didnt get a load out of this course. Safe boating

Hi Tres, Can you give us a breakdown on the cost? Besides you being a pro, I know it cost allot to travel, room board, gas, insurance, that you pay for. Just seems like for the laymen it's expensive. Do sponsers help you out? Might help us better understand. VV

Please refrain from your negative comments when you have no idea of what the course is all about. Just because you have managed not to hurt yourself in your present boat does not mean that you can not if you work hard enough at it. Self-teaching is not good, you afterall need to remember you knew nothing when you started, therefore that is exactly what you will know when you're done.

And just remember if you do something stupid and spill your Mom's beer, she's going to give you one serious a$$ whoopin'.

Thats why the number one boat rule is no open beverages while moving, learned that one the hard way found the boat was so fast that the wind sucked the cans dry and thats beer abuse!!!! And if Mom is still sipping away we'll just have to wait till she's done. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. :ernaehrung004:

"I can drive just fine" Isn't that typically associated with a long night out on he town? Would love to take a performance boat course, just can't seem to justify the cost. Quick questoin for you Tres, what is the typical expierence level of those that do take your course?

What are some of the "bad habits" that you find?? (Most Common?) I am not knocking your course one bit!! But I am comfortable with my boat and the speeds that I run it at! However, there is only a couple of people that I will ride with at high speeds................

Like asked above, can you break down the cost of your course? And when the course is taken, what boat is used? Basically, "sell" me your course..........what will I gain from your course that I can not learn from someone else that has been running high speed boats 30+ years and 20 of those in the same hull design that I have????

And the last I knew, we are all human, we all make mistakes!! And I have seen the "PROS" crash stuff too!! Alot of variables in the equation..............

I would take the class if i had the extra cash , but the way the economy is looks like I'm going to have to wait for the DVD . :cool-smiley-011:

This has to be one of the most interesting threads, From scoop removal to cup holders to young Asian twin mechanics:evilb: , CEO's compensation package:mad:, Tres high performance driving school:eek:, Fountains in trees:rolleyes:, Arneson surface drives and now a training DVD. I hope no one is confused now.:cool-smiley-027:

Now be honest how many of you carry insurance on your boat. I just checked on full value insurance on mine and it was like $2,500.00 a year through one of the OSO insurance companies.

I carry full value on my boat!! It is quite cheap. Then again it's an old POS!!! Wouldn't be on the water without it!!!!

Velocity Vector 03-31-2009 04:27 PM

I guess $2,500.00 divided by 365 days a year is only $6.84 a day. It only takes a second or two to distroy a boat so i guess it's a good thing to have.

This just ain't fair! You can get certified as an Okie for $24.95 and it's going to cost me more than 100 times that much. Certi-On-The-Cheap doesn't even do New Yorkers. I'm fockin' moving!

VV check with your home owners insurance, I got an awsome deal like 500 a year thru statefarm (Full coverage). Best part about it they had no clue what a Velocity was, so the agent came out to the house cause they thought it might be in his words a hot boat. I got there just after he did and the wife had the book out with all the data in it with it open to the first test run which indicated a speed of 70. I'm not sure what his speed refence is to hot but still have it insured. Oh the other thing he told us was the only way could get us covered was that we had to take the boaters safety course. Which also knocked it down another 10%:drink:

know you can add boaters safety courses to the list of topics

Velocity Vector 04-01-2009 07:51 AM

That's what I have now but the value is 60K not near enough. I'll call him and see if he can up it to said value.

Where did you get that rate? Real good rate for a 75-80 mph boat worth 160.

Can you get a similiar deal on a pair of Asian girls? If they're cheaper by the dozen I'm in for a pair of nice ones. That's two of them, not one with a nice pair. Fender Biotches! :drink:

Me personally No I have not crashed A boat but have been on them when they have been involved in crashes, more on the racing side,I was not behind the wheel. I have repair many crashed boats. Spinning some out I have done just while doing research and development. Ted is Ok last I saw 2 years ago. Have not talk to him in a while. I have had plenty of close calls, enough to make you aware how easy you can be taken from life.

Common ground !/? Put a HydroStream over a lot of years ago, then had a launch-trip-stuff it event with the 32 Velocity and a few other little incidents with that one over the years. I've always figured that a smart man learns from the mistake, then works to not repeat it. Amazing how much you can learn in those nano-seconds. I know I learned a bunch, and have never forgotten the lessons. Does change your outlook on things.
