Scoops leave them on or take'em off?
1 Attachment(s)
I am debateing weather to leave my scoops on my hatch or take them off some input please! They look great but take up so much room on the deck. The scoops were put on just for looks there is a hole under them the size of a coke can.
|
VV, they look good, but I can think of a something that would look better laying across that hatch :evilb: I vote for them to go!

If it's no trouble I'd take them off. If you have to fix the upholstery, plug the hatch and all that BS - I'd leave them on.
|
If you take them off, I know where one of them could be used..........
|
They look nice, but if they aren't really needed, I can see why you would like the room on the sun pad. The problem is patching the vinyl. It can be a lot of work pulling it all off and sewing in a new section where the holes are.
Maybe you can make a couple of drink holders where the holes are. lol |
If they're on for looks rather than function... I vote to get rid of them. The headrests and scoops make the hatch look too busy and make it impossible for a hot piece of azz to layout and catch some rays.

Don't know about the Tres deal. You just can't get a straight answer out of that guy. He comes on here hockin' his deal and when you ask a legit question about what you get for your money he gets all prissy and dodges the question. Who the fock knows. I'm thinking that for $2500.00 I could get an hour or two of Reggie's time and not waste my time on how to load the F'n thing on the trailer. As for Bill, I think he's transplanting a pair of 1075's so he can kick your arse! I do think you should start another contest, like "How fast will VV go!!!" I'm in at 105! And if you can't drive it there ................ you call and I'll get it done for you! :D I see Leon is sending some of his work overseas. Gotta love that free trade deal! Perch that pair on them scoops.! |

There VV, that will get him back to socializing with us Velocity guys again!!:party-smiley-004: Hey D it is! That's why he's smoozing me to sign up! :drink: VV is going to be starting a new deal and you need to get in on the ground floor here. The new deal will be "How fast can Ragged make this hot rod Velocity of mine run". I'm in at 105, pick a number and send you check direct to VV. The winner gets a all expense paid weekend with Leon's oriental rigging crew! Scroll back up and check them out!!! It's a two-fer deal, hard to beat that. :drink: |

QUOTE] wooowzers You forget who transplanted those SC's into that boat, then sold it to him. He don't need the 1075's, well at least not on flat water. What PM's? Opps, that one :o . Well things are good here. Starting to shape up weather wise, seeing some 50's and better. New York may have some of the highest taxes in the nation but at least we seem to miss the worst of Mother Nature's wrath. Lot of wild weather thruout the country lately. Even a 100 MPH Baja,,,,,,,, is still just a Baja! |

I was thinking sleeper , but didn't think the younger guys would know what I was talking about . About that educating boaters thing , the faster you go the more you need to know . Problem is any body with money can buy a boat that is fast enuff to be a danger to themself and others . No experence needed .The concept of high performance driving schools for cars has been around for a long time .It was a good idea to offer that type of training to boaters . Some of the people buying these high speed boats have little or no experence with going fast . If they got some training it might help with the safety problems we are all seeing around the country . That said GO FAST and be SAFE :party-smiley-048:

Us Fountain guys don't need no lessons! And don't be making those hair remarks, if you could go as fast as Reggie you might be needing a transplant too. I'll give you the calm, but you'll have your hands full in the rough chit. If I remember right you thought it was a little choppy the day we test drove the boat, we call that calm. :D |
I have seen 60 miles of 15 footers but I was on a 65' crew boat. Does that count?
Same day one of the crew was making bets he could do chin ups with his little fingers. We all pitched in 5 bucks. He caught a wave on the down and up he went with just his pinky's. Little sh!t took all our money. Heee! I got my 5 bucks worth before I was done. We finally got to the rig. I was feeling all green inside. Jumped on the personel basket as the crane was lifting us up the little guy was holding the rope from the basket to the boat. I couldn't hold it any more and threw-up all over him as we lifted about 15' off the boat. I was weezy for 3 days after that ride. |

Hey pete you need to check out the Tres web site again for 1500 you get the loading and unloading portion, no mention of it in the 2500 course. I did a quick math check, for 1500 I can fill my boat 9 plus times. that 9 full days of hard seat time. He mentions you'll learn to operate your boat in all conditions. Hmmmm how do you accomplish this when on any given day you will be lucky if you get 2 different conditions. I thought about the course a couple of times. The more I thought the more I realized that I would get mouch more out of the seat time. Unless some one can convince me otherwise I think I'll contiune to poor my hard earned cash into the tank and continue to get invaluable seat time:drink: hard to beat or teach. Yeh I recall the day I decided on buying my boat and everyone in the boat house stating it's one of the hardest boats to drive? well I guess I've learned the hard way seat tinme in al sorts of conditions, somthing school will never teach you
So true.......... Not saying the course isn't good for some, just not for everyone. I have learned through hours of riding and driving. My cousin knows how to run the Velocity hulls very well and has been running them for 20 years now........... I think I will take his advice first!!! :food-smiley-007: That being said, What's the consensus on the scoops.........Stay or Go!?!?!?!? |

They are probably going to go. If I'm getting enough air to the motors. I won't forget about you if they go.

Mr. Hot Stepper, Please refrain from your negative comments when you have no idea of what the course is all about. Just because you have managed not to hurt yourself in your present boat does not mean that you can not if you work hard enough at it. Self-teaching is not good, you afterall need to remember you knew nothing when you started, therefore that is exactly what you will know when you're done. And just remember if you do something stupid and spill your Mom's beer, she's going to give you one serious a$$ whoopin'. |
