5 1/2 HIGHER??!!! Now I'm interested, what year was your old boat and what actually is the x dem of the old and the new boat? I'm really interested to hear how this boat handles and what kind of speed you get. Sounds like its going to be a fun boat, I'm jealous!

John, do you meen the propshaft is going to be 5-1/2" higher?
The "X" dim is the distance from the bottom of the boat to the crank shaft of the engine/drive shaft of the outdrive.
Are you using a shorter than standard drive?
If the engine is really being raised 5-1/2" vs. the old boat, I hope that does not screw with the CG of the boat. I general you want the engine mounted as deep as possible / as close to the water as possible for best handling...
I could see using a drive that is 2 or 3" shorter and raising the engine 2 or 3" not 5-1/2", but I guess Steve knows his boats better...

John, I was at the factory last week - saw your boat. Looks great! That's going to be one crazy ride. It looks like your use of an ITS and sportmaster gives additional flexibility in the X dim. Can't wait to hear what kind of speed you get. Steve

John,
I guess this is your old boat...

I like these 22s...

Hey DKerns,
Are you sure you don't want to trade yours in on my boat?

Yeah, post some pictures of your windshield. I was looking to replace my broken windshield on my 2004 Velocity 220 and Steve said that they are now using a newer version on a 22 thats being built since the company who made the original version has folded. That was probably your boat he was referring to.

The windshield is supposed to in next week.

I don't have the actual X-dimension, but it is high. the top of the outdrive is at the base of the cap. There is all kinds of room under the engine. They were debating wheather to run the exhaust through the transem or the cap since it is so high. I would say the prop is going to be about 5 inches higher than my old boat. It is also going to be about 7 inches further aft due to the ITS drive.

The tabs are 380s. they may cut some off when they are propping the boat. The tabs are longer than what I had on a Victory 33. My old Velocity 22 didn't have or need tabs.

I was going to correct you and say stick since its a single but then I realized what that sounded like.:lolhit:

That ITS definitely is thicker on top, meaning the mounting looks higher than mine even if the x dem was the same height but that x is probably a good 3 to 4 inches higher than mine. Have they talked about prop selection with you? I have to imagine they're planning on going with a five blade on that boat. I'm really interested on how this boat is going to plane/handle. Also those tabs seem way too long for that boat, but I'm sure stepp knows his stuff. Would you tell them to hurry up with that thing!?
