Exclamation Velocity VMX 30

hi guys, i own a 1981 velocity vmx 30, it had inboards but i took them out, closed the holes and placed an armstrong bracket on the stern, afterwhich i put on twin 250 mercury efi's. it runs good but the most i could get on a good day is 69-70 with 23 pitch rapture props. any ideas on getting more speed?

I know a fellow with the same boat as you. He is Tripps here on OSO and on Scream&Fly.
Eric's boat has/had 3 200HP Mercs and runs 70. He is looking for a set of 250s to bolt in place of the trips.
You guys could probably help each other.
I think you are getting about as much as your going to get from an old school 30' boat with 500HP.

Ted at Links marine in Delaware put one together with tripps . He should have lots of information about rigging and results . I think he put 3-250 Mercury's and might have used a jack plate . Link's is also a a Mercury dealer rebuilder . Some times he can be found on OSO , look in the Outerlimits forums . I would think he would be happy to share information with you .
