yes, make sure you have a 28p bravo or a 26p-27p hydro. trim it up until it stops gaining you speed. hold on.

You want your engine to turn 5000RPM at WOT.
Lab finished 28p B1 or 27p QIV props.

yes 4 blade. i have a 27p hydro with the big hub, killed my xz lower so now i have a older 27p marige 3 blade on it because i am using a regular lower until i can get mine rebuilt. It actually is working really well. i can get into the limiter if i really try but it planes easy and runs out good.

If you ran a 27 Hydro with a 500 HP i need a 26 or 28 B1 4 blade?

A 28 sounds to big but i have never set up a 26 before.

Thanks men for all your help money is tight and need to get this right the first time.

if you go with a 28p b1 or 27p hydro it might need labbed for the velocity. i am at a lil higher elevation than you and run in a fresh water river with no chop, plus my 27p hydro is stock. if you in the ocean you will have chop that lets air get under the boat which will give you more speed. look in the swap shop for a used 26p or 28p b1 or a 26p 0r 27p hydro. i wound sell you my hydro but i doubt you have a xr or xz lower. you might want to stay away from props that are all ready labbed if you can not conform what has been done to them and why.

I have a 415HP/502Mag spinning a bone stock 26p B1.
My engine will turn 4800 with the lightest of loads on the boat.
A labbed 28p B1 would likely be within 100rpm of the stock 26p.
Your engine has 25-30HP more than mine to spite the ratings. Likely you'd see 5000rpm with a stock 26pB1.
I suggest a stock 26p B1 or stock 25p QIV for every day use.
If top speed is the issue, you want a labbed 28p B1 or labbed 27p QIV.
