You guys should be so proud of what you are undertaking! I've been in this business a LONG time, and I know how incredibly difficult and time consuming what you are doing is, but I also know how truly rewarding it can be when it the results are like what you are seeing now.
VERY well done, guys! Tom Caruso Total Marine |

Awsome story. I can not believe I am just picking up on this now. Love the old boats and have a few in resto myselef. I am in Naples and own a business that includes aluminum fabrication, powder coating, polishing, small parts plating and media blasting. Please feel free to call me if there is anything we can do to help with the project. Always willing to donate to a GOOD cause:) Would also love to see the boat some day, I have seen pictures of this boat for the better part of my life. GOOD LUCK, David.

I saw you guys headed north on 75 in Ft. Myers on 4/22. We were headed south with the formula in tow. Boat looked great from across the highway!

Hey everybody:coolcowboy:
Mike and I just got back from Sanford after working on the boat the last two days. The rigging process has started with the gas tanks in and plumbed, the floor glassed in, transom assemblies installed, tabs mounted. We are still sanding and polishing, which is quite a precise process we are finding. I think we're going to have the professionals (Cesar Guardado) finish it off as us two rookies just can't seem to get the final product we want and the boat deserves. It looks like we're still on schedule for the Jacksonville Poker Run so I'm going to post a few pics from this weekend but leave the finished product to be unveiled at the run.:party-smiley-004: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5186/...a452711893.jpg 2011-05-08_16-23-51_903 by JordanPoppa, on Flickr http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3248/...55ceccc42a.jpg 2011-05-08_16-23-42_563 by JordanPoppa, on Flickr http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3631/...ed404014df.jpg 2011-05-08_16-26-49_200 by JordanPoppa, on Flickr http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2667/...0558f4c5e7.jpg 2011-05-08_16-26-59_235 by JordanPoppa, on Flickr http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3004/...e71d580466.jpg 2011-05-08_16-28-15_99 by JordanPoppa, on Flickr http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2032/...a5f6c23627.jpg 2011-05-08_16-28-27_653 by JordanPoppa, on Flickr http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2392/...5f13362c31.jpg 2011-05-08_16-27-13_536 by JordanPoppa, on Flickr |

PM me your number when you get a chance so I can get a hold of you. Mike and I are always up for meeting new people, especially those that share our passion for boats. If all goes well we'll be in the water in under a month! -Jordan |
I think you need a larger set of tabs!
You may want to give a shorter set a try. When we tried long ones on the 30 Superboat we lost a LOT of speed. |
Glad to see you put the front tank back in. The boat looks great! Maddy had told me that he had cut a bulkhead in the front to make the boat more useable as a pleasure boat. I am sure Steve has looked at it and made any changes if they are needed. I look forward to seeing the boat.
Steve |
Looking great guys!!!!!!!

Love the velocity what's the power

Salute, Looks great maken us proud.

Unbelievable job guys, can't wait to see it in person

These are the original tabs the boat had, custom made by Steve Stepp. Not sure if it slowed the boat down any as it set the world record at the time so they should work for us now. However, if it seems like they are hurting more than helping I'm sure Steve will look at changing them somehow, he's going to wring every last mph out of this thing:) |

These boats have a big almost flat pad they are gentle at 75 mph and anything but at 85 MPH. In the proper hands they can be very fast and accelerate. This particular boat has an added strake down low that feeds the pad and a more gradual transition from V to pad that makes the running surface longer. By most accounts it is/was the best running 30 ever. Steve |
Mine needs it tabs to run .I wish I could get up there to Steve to dial mine in I'm getting closer. I know Steve will get that boat to run like a raped ape. I'm jealous maybe I'll get up there in the summer . I want to get my boat Wringed Out
