And YES, the floor is due for a good scrubbing before the back seat goes in. :lolhit:

Well, finally I was able to get a few parts picked up from the upholstery shop. He is still not done............. But the work he has done is very nice.
The weather has sucked anyway so it isn't like the upholstry is holding me up. I will have the other side panel and back seat installed by tomorrow. I added a second set of Kicker 6.5s to the Front of each panel and eliminated them from under the rear seat. Obviously, as can be seen in the picture I have some wiring still to do. I looks worse than it is. Just have to connect the speaker wires and the LED wires. http://www.bradzgarage.com/velocity/..._installed.jpg |
I know this is taking longer than you wanted but wow it's going to turn out great. I'm trying to come up with a plan to redo my interior and I like the idea of replacing the white with light gray; white is such a pita to keep clean and your combo looks sharp.
How bad were the side panels to remove? Do I need someone with long rubbery arms to help remove about 100 nuts & bolts? Thanks, Rick |
After you get the seats out of the way and the lower panels, it is rather easy to remove and re-install the side panels.
|
Looks awesome. Nice colors, and will be easy to keep cleen Bob
|
Here is a pic of panel 2, with LEDs. It was taken during day so the LED light is minimal but you get the point. Damn my Blackberry sux....
http://bradzgarage.com/velocity/IMG-20110506-00195.jpg Tomorrow, wire speakers and CLEAN FLOOR!!! |
Ok, here are some better pics. Speakers installed and floor clean. Need to re-glue the seem @ the back, it has curled up as you can see in the pics. (it is concealed by the seat)..

Looks great. Keep pics coming.
|
Back seat is in as well as lower panels. Lower panels were white, I sanded them and hit them with a "spray-bomb" Aluminum color then a clear coat. They have the perfect amount of gloss without being to glossy.

Here are more pics, with the seat pedastals in. I am now at a stand still until I get more parts....

I need to get it out in direct sunlight to warm it up a bit so I can beat the cushions in to shape and place....
|
Looking good.
|
for a guy that started off wanting white that is a big change . It looks awesome, you have picked a great combanation of colors and who ever ddid the work has done a great job.
|
Yeah, I figured eventually someone would bring up the fact that I was originally wanting to stay OEM colors. But I think I made the right choice.
The guy doing the work is good, but very slow..... But I knew that going in and figured good, slow work would be better than quick, so-so work. But he did screw up my engine cover, but he is fixing it. He sewed the "flying V" logo backwards, so it was viewable from the cockpit instead of the transom. Hopefully he can get that fixed ASAP. Then I think the hold up is the embroidery work on the glove box and seat tops. Once completed I am having a cover made out of sumbrella material that will go over the engine cover and snap to the existing buttons. It will be done in primary silver and will have the "flying V" done in charcoal. Basically it will be a cover to protect the sunpad/engine cover from damage when at the beach and rafted off. Plus it will keep it nice an dirt free. The cover will have the same pattern as the sunpad. Of course I will post pics of that when done...... But that is getting way ahead of myself. |
Looks great!
|
Engine cover is now on.
http://www.bradzgarage.com/velocity/P1050745.JPG http://www.bradzgarage.com/velocity/P1050749.JPG Again, it needs to sit out in the sun to loosen up a bit to then level out the foam. It is a bit lumpy right now.... |
It looks really nice, great choice of color.
|
Also I in the pics, the rear bench bottom cushions look they way they do becasue I was stepping on them right before taking the pic, so the foam had not had a chance to return to shape....
|
Some misc, parts back from powdercoat. I am not super happy with the quality, but it will have to do for this season. Will probably have all redone over winter (season is too short to have it all redone now...)

i feel ya. I'm no where near 5K, but I've boated 45 min this year so far and I am down
1 MSD distributor 1 intake Manifold gasket 1 Water pressure gauge 1 Stereo 1 gimbal bearing. I'll feel lucky if that is all I have to do! |
New Polk Audio 6x9s and Xtreme Audio Tribal Grills Powder Coated to match all the other red stuff. I am going to mount the 6x9s in the transom above the rub rail. I was reluctant to put them there but I am sick of people knocking my 6x9 boxes in the water.... We spend a lot of time backed up to a beach with the stereo on. Last year I was putting 6x9 boxes up on the sun pad, but they would get knocked in the water, rained on, etc. Not to mention, just a pain in the ass having to store them under the seat and running wires to them. With the Xtreme Audio Billet Grills Powder Coated Candy Red, these speakers may actually add some style to the back of the boat instead of just looking like 2 speakers.......

I found these in a box on my shelf yesterday. They were a customer return that I had forgot about. The powder coat is a dead match. So it looks like I have a new pair of shades for the boat.....
http://www.bradzgarage.com/velocity/gasket.jpg If you guys are looking for cool POLARIZED sunglasses let me know. I will offer OSO members good discounts on the Liquid Polarized Sunglasses as well as Wiley X sunglasses... (Moderators, if this is a violation please let me know and I will remove. I am not looking for free advertising, just looking to pass on some savings to fellow OSO members) |

I installed the transom speakers. Polk 6x9 marine certified. The first pic is final install with the Xtreme Audio Billet Grills and my Fusion wired remote installed. The second pic is the Polk Speajers with the standard plastic grills. Which grills do you guys like better? I am leaning toward the plastic ones, however they will become brittle over time and will no doubt color fade. Not to mention they don't offer much protection from flying objects (like footballs, frisbees, etc). The billet will certailny protect the speakers a bit better.
http://www.bradzgarage.com/velocity/...0514_00208.jpg http://www.bradzgarage.com/velocity/...0514_00206.jpg Also I think the left speaker needs a bit of an alignment..... |
I'm leaning red but they both look good. What happens to them if they get swamped?
|
They are waterproof. And have been sealed with "life seal" between the speaker and the transom. So Should be good. I plan on replacing the speakers once a season anyway, as I expect the sun to beat them up pretty good. I have had my Pioneer 6x9s knocked in the water numerous times and they weren't waterproof and they are still jamming.... But the boxes they were in are now 2x the size and about 10 lbs heavier....

Well now I am getting Pi$$ed. I am no farther along (with the interior) than I was 2 weeks ago. I have been into this guy shop almost everyday since, and little to no progress.. This guy just doesn't get it. I still owe him $3k and he is obviously in no hurry to get it. I am going to his shop tomorrow and letting him know it bhas to be done Friday morning or I am pulling uncomplete work out of his shop and he is only receiving partial payment. Either way it appears it won't be done by the holiday weekend. Unless by some mirical he actually gets the work done. I am not a happy camper!!!

Let us know if there is anything left that we can do for you? Like I said we are looking for work now for the summer slow down period, and we can turn most jobs in a couple weeks time on average. XT |
I was at the upholstery shop today and progress was finally encouraging. Looks like I will have a completed cockpit intrior by 1:00pm Friday!!!!!! While the work was ridiculously slow, the quality of work is awesome. The front seats look incredible. I will post pics tomorrow. I am just so damn excited to get it completed.........
|
Sounds like your ready for a well deserved drink :drink:
Good thing too, it sounds like we will have some good weather for a change, and it even falls on a holiday weekend! XT |
