Default need help?

i just bough a Steve Stepp Thoroughbred 26 foot, i was told that is the same hull as a Velocity, how true is that?
also it has a 557 cid with a #3 speedmaster drive and the motor should put out 680 hp according to the owner,
i had many boats before but nothing like this one, what should i look for and what do you really think it should be max speed top end?
i live here in south Florida and the boat will be use on the ocean, are they good rough water boats?
please advise
thanks in advance.

Yes, it is the same hull. Steve Stepp, for a time could not use the Velocity name because of a deal with Regal. He used the Thourghbred name and later got the rights to the Velocity name back.

They are very good boats and yours should be easily in the eightys. It is as good as and better then most 26 foot deep vee performance boats. With equal hp nothing will touch it once you learn how to drive it.

Have fun!

With the motor forward because of the Trans it should be able run through big water with more trim because the CG. is moved forward. but it will slow it down in flat

How did the interior get burned like that?
