i recently purchased a 96 26' velocity. it has a hp500, 557hp, 26p hydro prop, and runs 67mph at 5800rpm. doesn't seem right to me. i'm not sure what prop to try without spending a ton of money. thanks for any help

The Hyrdromotives, usually run well on the Velocity's depending on which model it is. I'd recommend talking to Todd at Hydromotive, since that's what you already have. Maybe he can tweak what you have.

Yes i would call Steve.

If you are pushing out 557 hp a 26 hydro is too small. I am using a 26 with a slightly tweaked 502 mag. A 28 bravo will also be too low a pitch as it is equal to a 26 hydro.

I would run a 28 Bravo 1. I am running a 28 Bravo 1 @ 5500 rpms with just a little more hp than your running.
