Been watching your posts/pics. This hull is a great design and a blast to drive. Good luck with your project!

Sorry, miss read the small block part.

I like the previous cheap 2x4 idea to test air situation. Learned about the air at the race track. We simply sealed the scoop to carb and improved times by more than the previous thousands spent in upgrades. I will have foam seals between scoops and carbs. If you think about it. You are sucking hot engine room air into motors.

I got my scoops from Teague today (ironically).

Lightning Headers

Here is a pic of the new headers. They look great. It isn't clear to me what finishes the tails where the go through the transom....

Looks nice! This is how my stainless marine's were finished. The tails went through the hull and it had a rubber gasket and polished trim ring.

I think this is what I need but the tails are 6" and I haven't seen any. May have to fab them.

I picked up a 30' velocity this fall, only got it out twice befor my ramp was out of water. It's got mildly built 502's, spinning 28 4 blades, 5500 Rpms and best run was 83.1. It's a handful to drive, pretty scared of it... I don't like the R's so high, I'm gonna try 30's in spring and hope to be down by the 5000-5100 range, and Maby pick up a mph or 2... That and the engines were built from scratch with worked carbs, previous owner pulled those and put on regular holleys with chokes because he said they were too cold blooded... Gonna try those and the 30's and hope for a few more mph and less R's..
