Here is a photo of a 30 Velocity race that we races out of NJ in the early 80s.
we purchased the Velocity from Gene Whipp, it had several different drive systems on at different times and we were it was the first velocity that broke 100 mph. not sure if that is true or not
the Last time I saw the Velocity was a race in New England maybe 1983/1984

That's a cool old velocity. What motors and drives did it have. Turbo?

When we got the boat from Gene Whipp It had modified small block Chevys 355 cu inch and with TRS drives when Gene Whipp went 100 mph, it had I believe big blocks and I believe Arneson drives on it Back then the production classes in APBA were not running turbos and had a engine displacement limit on them (735 Cu in)
The Transom was reworked so many times that it had a full 1/2' aluminum plate covering the entire transom that everything was mounted to(Drives - Tabs, Steering, Etc)

We race the Velocity back in the early 80s, it was sold and the last time that I saw the Boat it was at a race in Plymouth Ma in the mid 80s, where it is now, I have no idea.
am sure some one on here may have seen it at one time or another.
