Default hit 80 for the first time!!

Well yesterday I hit 80 on the GPS for the first time. My boat is a 2002 260 with a 500efi running a 27p 4 blade 15.5" dia. hydromotive. The best I could ever get out of it before yesterday was 78.5 on GPS. Every year I have had the boat I say I am going to go out on a cool fall day with a light fuel load. Yesterday I finally did and was able to get 80.3 on the GPS. I even put on my spare prop (B1 30p labbed lefty) just to see if I could get anymore out of the boat. For what ever reason my boat hates that prop, boat lists to the left very hard when on plane no matter speed or drive position. Any just happy I could finally break 80!!

Savor the moment. Take this advise. Don't try try for 85 or you'll end up spending a lot of time wishing you took my advise.

cooler weather temps and cooler incoming air to the engine intake tract along with cooler water temps - plus do not forget cooler water temps also helps with cooler fuel temps (cool fuel apps) might have helped you out for the extra mph. Hopefully the 80 mph will remain in the mid July and Aug months. 80 mph great run for a stock app.

It's a great feeling to bust 80. I can't wait to do it with my current boat.

Congrats man! Shooting for 90+ this afternoon and tomorrow in my Talon. my old T-Bred (Velocity) with twin 260 outboards was a blast to run. I wonder why your boat is listing to the left?
