I finally got the engine compartment looking like it should. The factory center support was a really weak aluminum c-channel that they further weakened by cutting out clearance for a throttle cable and a header. This allowed enough flex that the acrylic mirror under the port hatch contacted a header and melted. So, I had some custom brackets fabricated and used a 1X2" steel beam which clears everything and is far stronger. Then, I pulled the driveshaft cover and repainted it with bedliner for traction. The mirrors were replaced with diamond plate. Finally, I swapped out the corroded battery boxes for some nice billet pieces. Next up, it heads to the painter at the end of the month. I'm excited!
