I've dealt with Todd on a few occasions and he is great to work with. Give him a call and see what they have. If he's got a set lying around, he will most likely let you try them.

Unfortunately, Bblades doesn't have these in their test program, so I may not have a choice but to buy a set.

I was thinking that the greater blade area on the round ear P5X would help you out analogous to the Bravo One vs Hyrdo Q4 comparison on my 390. Although the Bravo One is smaller in diameter, the greater blade area makes a huge difference planning off for me. Best of luck.

I tried Hydromotive P5 props and they actually had over 23% slip. They were harder to plane and slower than my Herings. After conversations with both Tom and Todd at Hydromotive, I really believe the next step is to try drive spacers. Every prop I've tried had at least 19% slip, including the Maximus.

I ended up dropping the drives with 2" spacers which made a world of difference. The boat feels better in every aspect, especially planning and docking. Prop slip was reduced from 21.5% to 13% with the 6-blade Herings. I lost 400 RPM, but still ran the same top speed. I then rented a set of 28P Bravos. These planed without effort, but I hit the rev limiters with only neutral trim. I just tried a set of Mercury labbed 30P Bravo props yesterday thinking they would run about 200 RPM less, but they were just the same on the rev limiters. Acceleration and planing were excellent, though. So, it seems prop testing will carry into next season, but I should be able to make short work of it. Unfortunately, the trees are turning, the temps are growing cold, and the 6 month Minnesota winter is about to begin. I have lots of projects planned for the offseason to keep me busy.

I finally finished some stuff on the dash. I had to send the speedo in for a software update from Livorsi. I also had to replace the Fireboy indicator light panel. The red steering wheel was also cracked in multiple places. I've never seen any of the padded wheels last very long, so I decided to go with an orange Carlotta. It got a new, longer hub as well.

Next up, I'll be pulling the sun pads to get them recovered from this...

While the hatches are at the upholstery shop, I decided to focus on the trailer. I was only planning to install new wheel bearings, but after seeing the brakes, I got all new hub and brake kits. I went with Tie Down Vortex hubs which have 3-lip grease seals and screw-in dust caps with O-rings. Hopefully, they will keep the water out and grease in better than the last hubs.

Got the hatches back and mounted today. I think they turned out pretty good and go well with the original cockpit. The 3 rear seat cushions were also recovered as they were splitting at the seams and had some scrapes. A big thanks to Kenny for helping me track down the original cream and orange vinyl!
