Default Switch covers

Two questions for the Velocity family.

1. What brand are the dash switches on the VR 1, 280 etc? They look like Carling but I am not sure.

2. The labels on the switch covers always seem to wear off. Does anyone know where to get replacements with the labels? Kenny says Velocity does not have them. Anyone do anything different? If I can't get labels I am thinking of having a graphics shop do them in vinyl and put below the switches.

Thanks,

Padraig

The switches in my 03' 260 are made by Carling Technologies, they're the Contura series. I dug up all the info about two years ago when i was making my own k plane controls and wanted OEM switches. As far as finding specific switches with the screen printed labels on them, good luck. Adding labels above or below the switches is probably your best bet and far more cost effective to replace vs the whole switch.

That is awesome. Thanks for the info. Another site gave me this link to Carling switches and actuators, http://newwiremarine.com/product/534/. These should work but it appears that they only come in black not the typical Velocity white. I was thinking of going to a black actuator anyway so these might work.

I also am still thinking vinyl labels made up and applying above or below the switch. I am wondering if that would be more durable and look good.

I puchased some labeled switch covers from the below ebay seller. The covers definitely fit and the white color is right but the black lettering is different than the original. The mismatch didn't bother me enough to redo all the other switch covers.

Thanks for the links guys. Mine have done the same. Labeling worn off. I've narrowed down the commonly used ones to memory, yet still don't know what a couple are used for. Maybe not hooked up. They are the 3 position rockers, up-center-down.
